Research on Bearing Difference between Single-Pile Composite Foundation Field Test and Group-Pile Composite Foundation of High-Rise Buildings

چکیده

The reliability of high-rise buildings’ rigid-pile composite foundations primarily relies on the load test results single-pile foundations. Field tests were conducted for a building in loess area China, conformed to design requirements. Nevertheless, buildings experienced significant settlement after construction, which was quite different from results. Investigating bearing disparities between and group-pile structures necessary. Firstly, conducting an indoor interface shear propose pile–soil hyperbolic contact model integrate it into numerical model. Subsequently, finite element employed that accounts interactions order analyze discrepancies bearing. show difference rises by 56.4% as escalates 100 kPa initial level increases 28.9% ascends final level. changes with increasing hardened curve pattern. Furthermore, differences pile characteristics interaction analyzed. Negative friction occurs within 1/4 length foundations, while range contracts 1/10.

Effects of Site Factors on the Performance of Rigid-Pile Composite Foundation in Tall Buildings

Values of site factors in numerical simulation can have profound effects on the calculation accuracy. In order to fully understand the performance of rigid-pile composite foundation in tall buildings, this article set up an overall FEA model of a 25-storey frame-tube structure by considering the interaction of superstructure, foundation and ground. Thereafter, a detailed parametric study was pe...

Study on Load-Bearing Characteristics of a New Pile Group Foundation for an Offshore Wind Turbine

Because offshore wind turbines are high-rise structures, they transfer large horizontal loads and moments to their foundations. One of the keys to designing a foundation is determining the sensitivities and laws affecting its load-bearing capacity. In this study, this procedure was carried out for a new high-rise cap pile group foundation adapted to the loading characteristics of offshore wind ...

Effect of Pile Foundation on Natural Frequency of Soil Layer

Free vibration of soil often occurs during earthquakes. Since the vibration caused by earthquake does not have (steady state harmonic vibration) continuity, the alluvium vibrates with its natural frequency between two natural seismic waves. This study evaluates the effect of piles on the period of free vibration of a soil layer using numerical method. In the first stage, using analytical equati...

Seismic Retrofit of Pile Group Foundation with Thickened Caps

The case studied in the paper proves that thickening the pile cap is an effective seismic retrofit alternative to strengthen a pile group foundation. Unlike the typical seismic retrofitting of foundation, the proposed method eliminates the need to drive long piles into existing bridge substructures, substantially reducing cost, construction time and traffic interruption. The method thickens the...

Study on Bearing Capacity of Prestressed Pipe Pile Foundation Under Horizontal Load

Received: June 12, 2017 Revised: October 24, 2017 Accepted: November 03, 2017 Abstract: Background and Objective: Prestressed high strength concrete pipe pile (PHC) shows brittle fracture when subjected to more than its own bearing capacity. Therefore, the non-prestressed steel bar is added to the PHC pipe pile, that is, the mixed reinforced pipe pile (PRC). The mechanical behavior of PRC group...
